CFG Bank owner donates $3M to advance National Aquarium's waterfront project

The local businessman decided to channel his frustration with negative headlines by trying to change the narrative. Dwyer has donated $3 million to the National Aquarium to help advance a long-awaited project to build a waterfront campus between Piers 3 and 4 of the Inner Harbor featuring floating wetlands and terraces.

(the “Company”), the holding company of CFG Bank (the “Bank”), announced the closing of its private placement of $30 million aggregated principal amount 3.875% Fixed-to-Floating Rate Subordinated Notes (the “Notes”) to certain qualified institutional buyers. The Notes will mature on June 1, 2031 and will initially bear interest at a rate equal to 3.875% per annum.

Helping Up Mission (HUM) received a donation of $100,000 from CFG Bank, made possible through the generosity of owner Jack Dwyer. The donation enables HUM to make the facility renovations necessary to re-open its emergency shelter program which closed in March 2020 due to health and safety concerns associated with COVID-19.

CFG Bank (CFGB) today announced the launch of the newly-formed Jack and Nancy Dwyer Workforce Development Program, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to help resolve the effects of systemic poverty and inequality and help resolve the turnover crisis and burnout due to staffing shortages in the healthcare industry by creating a pathway to advance career opportunities in the nursing profession. CFGB donated $1 million to jumpstart the program.
